WHAT IS AN ORGANISATION MEMBER NUMBER?
If you’re an organisation, school, charity or community group, you can earn refunds and receive donations from your community via your organisation member number. It's your free Containers for Change WA account that makes fundraising easier than ever.
Organisation member numbers can be used at all refund points across WA. Your group and your supporters just need to either show, scan or tag your bags with your organisation member number when returning 10¢ containers, or when using our collection services. All refunds are then directly deposited to the account linked to the organisation member number.
Which groups can get a member number?
Charities and Community Groups
Not-for-profit organisations, social groups, sport or hobby groups.

Set bank transfer or PayPal as your preferred payment method in your account. You can easily update your group’s details whenever you need to.
Promote your organisation
Once you have created an organisation member number, publish your group in our Directory on our website and app, so supporters across WA can donate their 10¢ containers to you, wherever they are.
Receive donations
Your community can donate their container refunds straight to your organisation via your member number. Venues and events can also save 10¢ containers and use your member number to donate directly to you.
Book a collection service
With your organisation member number, you can book a convenient container collection service to pick-up your 10¢ containers at a time that suits you. Returning containers on behalf of your organisation has never been easier.
Involve your team mates
When you sign up for an organisation member number, you'll have access to a portal account where you can invite other team mates from your organisation to help manage your fundraising.
How to sign up for an organisation member number
1. NOMINATE A TEAM LEADER AND SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT
Every team needs a leader, and the same rule applies to your member number account. When you sign up for an organisation member number, you'll need someone in the group who already has an individual member number account with Containers for Change to join first. This is so we have somebody in your group we can contact, if needed.
2. INVITE YOUR TEAM MATES TO THE ORGANISATION ACCOUNT
When your account is set up, the Team Leader can then invite team mates to join your group's account, making it easy for everyone to track your fundraising progress. Team mates can view the group return stats, including total donations, refunds, and containers saved from general waste.
3. Set up the group refund payment method
The Team Leader can also set the preferred payment method your organisation will use to receive refunds and donations to. This payment method is automated, so you can choose between receiving a deposit into a bank or Paypal account, or even donating your refund to another charitable organisation like yours.
4. Publish your cause in our directory
Once your organisation has signed up for a member number, you’ll be able to publish your organisation's details in our Good Causes Directory. This helps the community easily find your organisation and save your member number, which they can then use to donate their refunds to you.
Log in to the member number portal and use the 'our cause' form to describe your organisation's purpose. Once you submit the form, your organisation will appear in our online Directory and on our app.
