We’ve put together this step-by-step guide to help you get started on your Containers for Change fundraising journey.
1. Sign up for a member number
Your member number makes returning 10¢ containers and receiving donations, easy. Plus, it only takes a few minutes to sign up. All you need is your organisation's contact and payment details handy, and someone to nominate as your account's Team Leader (basically, a main contact).
2. Assemble your team
Your Team Leader will be able to add team mates, so everyone in your organisation can be involved in the fundraising process.
3. Decide on your fundraising approach
Decide which way works best for your organisation. Share your member number with your supporters, collect 10¢ containers at events, or even become a donation point.
4. Get 10¢ container savvy
It pays to know which containers are accepted at refunds points in WA. Always check for the 10¢ mark on your containers, and if in doubt, use our handy container barcode scanner on our app!
5. Know your local refund point
With over 270 refund points across WA, your local refund point might be closer than you think! Get to know the operators, and ask how they can help your organisation achieve their fundraising goals.
6. Talk to your community
WA is home to thousands of dedicated container savers. Reach out to local businesses and inspire your community to start saving 10¢ containers for your organisation. If you need help to get started, use our fundraising letter template.
7. Spread the word
Promote your organisation and fundraising goals to your network. Let your supporters know they can help by donating their container refunds straight to you. Use our digital library of marketing materials, and tag us @4changeWA in your social media posts.
