Like many West Australians, Edna Walter uses Containers for Change to fundraise for a school. The difference? The school she fundraises for is on an entirely different continent.
JOONDALUP LAKERS HOCKEY CLUB
Joondalup Lakers Hockey Club is on a mission to make hockey accessible for all, and they’re achieving that goal by fundraising through Containers for Change.
LUCA FROM BELMONT
Luca is a seven-year-old with a passion for collecting 10¢ containers. With the help of his family, Luca has returned thousands of containers, and loves the pocket money that comes as a result.
SCHOOLS ACROSS THE PEEL REGION
Since October 2020, 28 schools across the Rockingham and Peel region have saved more than 250,000 10¢ containers from general waste.
RECYCLE MAN PERTH
Vik, or Recycle Man Perth, is a Perth local with Down Syndrome who collects 10¢ containers from homes and businesses throughout the western suburbs to fund his independence.
ZIBEON FROM HIGHGATE
Highgate local, Zibeon Schildkraut, is another keen container saver contributing to WA's impressive return total of over 3.5 billion containers.
K9 DOG RESCUE
K9 Rescue began fundraising by collecting and recycling containers through the Containers for Change program. By using their member number, the organisation successfully raised $10,000 in a year, which directly supported essential dog care and rehoming efforts.
LIQUOR BARONS MORLEY
Liquor Barons Morley incentivises container recycling by offering a $2 discount per carton when customers return 24 containers. This program, facilitated by Containers for Change, has recycled over 56,000 containers.
ALL TRACKS 4WD CLUB
All Tracks 4WD, a group of four-wheel driving enthusiasts, have found a way to combine their hobby with environmental cleanups. Since first partnering with Containers for Change in 2020, they've been clearing trails, supporting charities, and giving 10¢ containers another life.
CHURCHLANDS PRIMARY SCHOOL
Churchlands Primary School has embraced Containers for Change as a fun way to learn about sustainability. By collecting and returning containers, the students raise funds for projects like their frog habitat, as well as supporting those in need.
SHENTON COLLEGE
Shenton College students proved that recycling can be rewarding! The student-led Containers for Change competition included a pizza-fueled prize, and resulted in $198 being raised for the RSPCA.
